Jayson obtained a Master of Psychology (Counselling) in 2006. He is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. Furthermore, he is a member of the Australian Centre for Psychoanalysis of which he was secretary.

Jayson has a wealth of experience since commencing professional practice in 2006. He has worked with individuals (adolescents and adults), couples and groups within a range of settings (drug and alcohol, forensic, mental health, sexual health, and private practice settings). His core areas of practice include: mental health and personal development. He can assist in the following areas:

Jayson’s therapeutic approach aims to enable one to work through presenting conflicts to bring about positive changes in one’s life and relationships.

Clinical Supervision/Professional Development

Jayson is a board approved supervisor with AHPRA who provides a supportive space to discuss your clinical work in person or via video conferencing. He provides a forum for self-reflection, but supervision can also be utilised for case formulation or to build your clinical skills in a particular area of practice. Regarding experience, Jayson has provided individual, and group based clinical supervision to psychologists, social workers, psychotherapists and counsellors working across EAP, community, dual diagnosis, forensic, private practice, and university-based settings.

Jayson has also acted as a principal and secondary supervisor to provisional psychologists completing either the masters, 4+2 or 5+1 pathway. In terms of the 5+1 pathway, clinical supervision will include supporting you in becoming proficient in the eight core competencies as specified by AHPRA but also review and provide feedback on case studies. Furthermore, he has provided clinical supervision to psychologists completing their endorsement program and can act as a principal supervisor to those individuals’ seeking their endorsement in counselling psychology.

Additionally, Jayson has previously lectured in undergraduate psychology and provided training in a range of clinical areas. He offers a free fifteen-minute consultation to discuss your supervision needs and to determine whether the supervisor and supervisee would be a good fit to work together.

Fees

Fees for all services are maintained at an affordable rate. In addition, rebates may be available for Medicare or from your health insurer, reducing any out-of-pocket expenses’.

Medicare Rebate

A Medicare rebate may be obtainable under the Better Access to Mental Health Care Program if you are referred from your General Practitioner (GP). After the initial six sessions, a review with your GP is required in order to determine your eligibility for an additional four sessions.

Private Health Insurance Rebates

If you are eligible for a rebate from your health insurer, rebates may vary between different companies and levels of cover. It is advisable to check with your health fund for details.
